Emergency medicine has been at the forefront of discussions surrounding applications for artificial intelligence in health care because of the unique nature of this clinical practice. With increasing departmental flow challenges and a need for fast and accurate decisionmaking for high-acuity patients, the increased speed and accuracy that could be provided by artificial intelligence technology are particularly promising in the context of emergency medicine.
