We completed a literature review looking at the management of PE, specifically focussing on SMPE/MPE. We completed a rounds session with IM, Cardiac surgery and IR to discuss the current literature and management. We then developed a consensus based guideline for management of PE. This includes the use of ECMO/ECPR and open clot retrieval as well as the role of IR. We presented at multiple departmental meetings and have run simulations to test the guideline. We will audit the use of the guideline in the next few months. Feedback has been excellent.
